The purpose of the work is to clarify the essence of leadership on the basis of theoretical and empirical research, identify psychological factors and substantiate the ways of its formation among military personnel of NGU The result of the work is: implementation of theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific studies of leadership in military units; substantiation of the methods of empirical research of the leadership qualities of NGU military personnel, identification of the main groups of the researched; study of leadership qualities of military personnel of NGU; development of a program for the formation of leadership qualities among military personnel of NGU. The obtained results of the research can be used in the activities of the psychological service of NGU when implementing the psychological support of service-combat activities of military personnel of NGU.
