It is a versatile platform for delivering drugs, nucleic acids, and other biologically active compounds. Within this project, two multifunctional preparations were developed to promote the healing of acute skin wounds: chitosan-based hydrogels in the form of films and chitosan-based ointments. The hydrogel formulation incorporates hyaluronic acid as a stimulator of regenerative processes, while the ointment formulation includes linseed oil, ampicillin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and 1,2-propylene glycol. Both preparations are enriched with the cannabimimetic compound N-stearoylethanolamine (NSE), recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties. We confirmed the biodegradability of these preparations and the biocompatibility of their components. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that the preparations exhibit a coarse-porous structure, facilitating their adherence to wound surfaces. Experimental studies on wound treatment in laboratory mice demonstrated the robust wound-healing efficacy of these formulations, evidenced by accelerated wound closure, shortened epithelialization time, and enhanced remodeling of collagen fibers. Topical application of the NSE-containing ointment reduced wound-associated inflammatory responses, as reflected in time-dependent changes in specific immune cell profiles. Notably, no significant alterations were observed in the tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) levels and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in plasma samples from the treated mice, suggesting limited systemic inflammatory effects. Thus, we have developed user-friendly, domestically produced products for effective wound healing. Due to their amphiphilic nature, these preparations can be further functionalized with various biologically active substances, including poorly water-soluble compounds, antibiotics, and antioxidants.
