Subject of research is the dynamics of land cover and features of the formation of a green spaces systems in a towns Kaharlyk (Lisosteppe) and Vyshgorod (Polissya) of Kyiv region in the context of ecologically balanced development and resistance to climate change. Using GIS technologies and satellite images of 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021, the dynamics of land use / land cover (LULCC) and connectivity (LCA) were tracked on the territory of the model city of Vyshgorod for the further formation of an ecologically balanced complex greening system on its territory, taking into account global urbanization processes and climate change. It was established that during the studied period, no cardinal negative changes in land cover within the city council occurred. However, as for Kaharlyk, there were some negative changes, in particular regarding the preservation of natural tree plantations and their connectivity. In addition, Vyshgorod has an unacceptably low provision of green spaces for public use. The biodiversity of tree plantations (SDI) of both small towns: Vyshgorod and Kagarlyk was also studied. General conclusions were made and recommendations were formulated for the experimental small towns regarding the formation of comprehensive greening systems and increasing the eco-sustainability of urban areas.
