During the 2024 target genes have been picked up that are believed to be promising for development of expression systems. Strains of J1074 have been generated carrying the DNA constructs where regulatory gene controls the expression of genes for fluorescent proteins, whose expression level can be facilely detected and quantified. This paves the way for a detailed study of the behavior of the genes under study, with a final aim to reveal those with the highest potential to become well-controlled tools for strong gene expression in actinomycetes.
