ZI Nekrasov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the work is to develop the parameters of heat treatment of AISI 316L austenitic steel to reduce the level of residual stresses and prevent deviations in the geometry of the part manufactured by the SLM method. popup.description2  As a result of the conducted research, an idea was developed about the features of the fracture mechanism during static stretching of steels of the same brand (chemical composition within the standard) and different production methods. Predictive models of the influence of chemical composition, cooling rates and microstructure features on the change in phase transformations in parts manufactured by the additive manufacturing method were developed. A calculation method was developed for the rational selection of maintenance of parts manufactured by the additive manufacturing method in order to determine the influence of internal stresses on geometric parameters. It was established that during heat treatment to remove internal stresses in accordance with AMS 2759/4B, the mechanical properties of 316 L steel manufactured by traditional technology changed slightly after holding at a temperature of 427°C. After cooling from 899°C, the strength indicators decreased by up to 40%, and the plasticity indicators increased by about 20%. The mechanical properties of 316L steel manufactured by the laser melting technology of the powder layer changed similarly. The influence of heat treatment to reduce residual stresses under different regimes on the phase composition, the level of stresses of the first and second kind, the distortion of the crystal lattice and the deviation of the geometric parameters of the product from the specified ones was investigated. Based on the results obtained, recommendations were given for heat treatment that will ensure an effective reduction of residual stresses and preservation of the initial structure formed during manufacturing using SLМ technology.
