Registration Date 10-12-2024 Organization Institute of Mathematical Machines and System Problems NAS Ukraine. popup.description1 The purpose of this project is to develop new tools for modeling the transfer of radioactive pollution in the marine environment, which are based on advanced theories of physicochemical processes of pollution transfer and methods of assimilation of measurement data and their implementation in a pilot web system for the analysis and forecasting of radioactive pollution of the Black Sea after potential accidents . popup.description2 The 63 page report includes an introduction, four chapters, conclusions, a list of references to 88 sources, 10 illustrations. Objects: atmospheric environment, water environment. The goal of the project is to develop new tools for modelling the transport of radioactive contamination in the marine environment, based on advanced theories of physicochemical processes of contamination transport and methods for assimilating measurement data and their implementation in a pilot web-based system for analysing and predicting radioactive contamination of the Black Sea after potential accidents. The report presents the results of the project tasks, which include: a review and analysis of existing methods of activity transport by suspended particles and the collection and analysis of relevant observation data, a review of modern models of radioactivity transport in the seas and oceans, and a review and analysis of data assimilation methods. A scenario for further research on the application of DA methods has also been selected, namely the scenario of radionuclide distribution in the Black Sea after the Chornobyl accident. The basic functional requirements of the system for analysing and forecasting radioactivity in the Black Sea, which will be developed during the project, have been formulated. The system architecture has been designed, in particular, the types of server and client, DBMS, and Javascript libraries for visualising results have been selected, and the software implementation of individual system modules has begun in terms of automating the loading of input hydrometeorological fields based on the use of MyOcean online services. KEYWORDS: radioactivity transfer methods, data assimilation, web information system, system architecture, Black Sea.   Product Description popup.authors Bezhenar Roman V. Bezhenar Yuliia R.
