Identifying the structure-property relationship for the developed electrolyte materials will allow determining its optimal composition and manufacturing modes that will provide the required properties. - development of SOFC electrolyte material with higher electrical conductivity compared to the zirconia stabilized with 8 mol. % yttria (8YSZ), which is currently the traditional and most widely used electrolyte material in production of the commercial combined heat and power systems based on SOFC. popup.description2 A literature review of scientific publications on the properties, structure, and research methods of solid oxide fuel cell electrolyte materials was conducted. A technological technique for manufacturing of structured electrolyte materials based on zirconia with different contents of stabilizing additives (Sc2O3, Y2O3, CeO2) was developed. As a result, mixtures of powders of electrolyte materials 10Sc1CeSZ – 8YSZ (33-, 40-, 50-, 65-, 75-, 90-%) of various compositions were prepared. Ceramics samples of six electrolyte materials of the 10Sc1CeSZ-8YSZ system (33-, 40-, 50-, 65-, 75-, 90%) and samples of traditional electrolyte materials 10Sc1CeSZ and 8YSZ were made for further comparative study of their electrical and mechanical properties. The phase composition of the samples was studied. All samples showed a cubic phase of zirconium oxide. The further work has been begun on studying the structure of the obtained ceramic samples: polished cross sections of the samples were prepared to study the distribution of grains by size. The work on studding of the structures of the ceramic electrolytes 10Sc1CeSZ-8YSZ by means of SEM was begun.
