The purpose of the study is the presentation and analysis of tolerance as an axiological basis of the professional culture of a police officer. Tolerance is interpreted as a value based on respect for the individual, recognition of his right to be different from the majority. This is not just tolerance for otherness, but an active attitude that involves understanding and accepting diversity, respect for human rights and freedoms, regardless of their origin, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, political views, etc. It also involves the rejection of stereotypes and prejudices. Each person is unique and has the right to be the way they are. It is argued that for a police officer, tolerance is not just an individual trait, but also a professional necessity, the basis of effective work in a multi-layered and dynamic society. A police officer must establish trust with people, regardless of their characteristics, this enables constructive communication and cooperation, which are key to conflict prevention and problem solving. A number of factors related to the tolerance of a police officer are highlighted: act impartially, objectively assess the situation and make decisions based on the law and justice; to ensure the rights and freedoms of all people, regardless of personal characteristics, not to discriminate against them on any grounds.
