In this work, femtosecond laser pulses were used, the operating parameters of which will be optimized, as well as a number of carbon fiber composites with a polymer matrix modified in terms of beam energy absorption and dissipation. The aim of the work is to develop methods for improving the performance of laser cutting and texturing of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic by adjusting the operating parameters of the femtosecond laser, the composition and structure of the polymer composite. At this stage of execution, the distance between the pulses of the femtosecond laser processing unit was optimized. As a result, the best pulse spacing of 1.4 μm was obtained, which corresponds to 64 % overlap between pulses at the best pulse duration. The best pulse duration is 190 fs. With the new laser system configuration, high laser multi-scan cutting speeds are demonstrated: 516 mm/s with a low sidewall roughness of 0.96 μm. Additionally, a practical method for estimating the wetted surface for the Cassie equation based on measuring the wetting angles with test liquids with different surface tensions was proposed. The method allows to quickly evaluate the ability of textures to repel liquids, compare the quality of hydrophobic materials, and determine the coefficients of the Cassie-Baxter equation without complex indirect methods.
