It was found that the emission in the 3tCzPy compound originates from the relaxation of hybridized local excited states and charge transfer states. This feature makes 3tCzPy a promising material for use as an emitter layer in quantum-sized organic light-emitting heterostructures. The emission spectrum of these heterostructures can be tuned by applying an external voltage. The compounds QBr2, QAcr2, and QPhox2 exhibit ambipolar conductivity. They demonstrate high hole and electron mobilities for organic semiconductors, reaching 3.2×10⁻⁴ cm²·V⁻¹·s⁻¹ and 1.5×10⁻⁴ cm²·V⁻¹·s⁻¹, respectively. These properties make them suitable candidates for functional wide-bandgap components in organic quantum wells. A review article submitted for publication analyzes the mechanisms of exciton localization in potential wells to maintain OLED efficiency. It highlights methods to enhance emission brightness and minimize exciton leakage channels. Additionally, the work discusses strategies for designing quantum wells for OLEDs with blue, green, red, near-infrared, and high-efficiency white light emission.
