The object of the study is the features of providing psychological assistance and social support to a person. The subject of the study is psychosocial support to family members of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the event of their death, disappearance, injury, stay or release from captivity. The research methods are selected based on the defined goals and objectives, taking into account its object and subject. Theoretical: analysis, comparison, interconnection and interdependence, systematization and generalization of scientific psychological literature and regulatory and legal framework on the issues under study. Analytical: description of Ukrainian and foreign experience, modeling of various types of support for family members of employees, classification of psychotechnologies on support issues. The results obtained: methodological recommendations have been prepared to study the issues of psychosocial support for family members of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the event of one of the negative life events, namely in the event of their death, disappearance, injury, stay or release from captivity. The essence of the concept of psychosocial support and the features of its provision are revealed. The features of appropriate psychological support for family members of employees are highlighted, taking into account the above-mentioned negative events.
