It was determined that microalloying of high-manganese steels with Si, Cr, Mo, V, Nb and Cu helps to make heat treatment more efficient by reducing heating temperatures, which leads to the formation of additional strengthening carbides and dispersed k-carbides. Microalloying and modification of TWIP steels with one or two elements, as a rule, provide good results in the formation of the structural-phase state and mechanical properties. The processes of casting and hot deformation are highly dependent on the chemical composition of Fe-Mn-Al-C steels. The quality of casting of the considered class of steels depends to a large extent on the sources of impurities, especially oxides and phosphorus. The most common problem is casting with the use of slags and hard fluxes in casting molds, which can seriously contaminate the ingots throughout the volume. A method for obtaining high-quality samples of Fe-Mn-Al-C steel in the cast state has been developed and tested. It has been determined that steels containing 25-35 Mn, 7-12 Al, 0.7-1.2 C (% by weight) are promising and can be additionally alloyed with elements such as Si, Mo, Cr, V and Ni.
