The preparative method of synthesis of C-1193 was developed. Compound C-1193 and a number of its analogs were submitted for research to the O.V.Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of NAS of Ukraine. Studies have shown that thiacalix[4]arene C-1193 induces changes in Ca2+ transport activity, effectively inhibits NO synthesis, and has a marked modulatory effect on the electron transport chain of myometrial mitochondria.
