Head Veliky Mykola M., д.б.н. Registration Date 16-12-2024 Organization Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 To study the functional interaction of transcriptional activation pathways involving VDR and GPR158-mediated osteocalcin signaling in cholinergic mechanisms implicated in the formation of cognitive-behavioral functions under normal conditions and in neurodegenerative processes associated with vitamin D3 deficiency. popup.description2 A relationship was found between the low vitamin D3 status of the animal body, the bioavailability of 25(OH)D3 for the tissues of various organs and disorders of the expression level of vitamin D3-binding protein (VDBP), key enzymes that ensure, respectively, the local formation and degradation in the tissues of the vitamin D3 hormone (CYP27B1 and CYP24A1), as well as the vitamin D3 receptor (VDR), through which the autocrine and paracrine effects of 1α,25(OH)2D3 are realized. These changes were accompanied by disturbances in mineral metabolism and the state of bone remodeling. The study of the level of the marker of osteoblast-mediated osteosynthesis, osteocalcin, which also provides the functional interaction of bone tissue and the brain, demonstrated an increased content of this osteokine in bone tissue with a decrease in its level in brain tissue in D3 deficiency. The therapeutic efficacy of vitamin D3 has been established in improving its bioavailability for liver, kidney, brain, bone, and overall body (increasing the level of 25(OH)D3), as well as in partial or complete normalization of the expression of osteocalcin, VDR, and cholecalciferol biotransformation enzymes in various tissues against the background of vitamin D3 deficiency.
