Object of the study. The current condition of the historic “Kadetskyi Hai” in Kyiv compared with the Officers’ District in Krakow and with E. Howard’s “garden city” concept. Purpose of the study. To conduct a comprehensive analysis of historical residential areas in Krakow and Kyiv using modern theories and urban analysis tools in order to develop strategic recommendations for their sustainable development and integration into the contemporary urban structure, particularly considering eco-city, sustainable, and pedestrian-friendly city concepts. Research methods. Historical analysis method, comparative analysis method, analytical method, transport analysis methods, urban space integration methods (Space Syntax), experimental method, photo documentation method, and sociological research methods. Novelty of the research. The study employs an interdisciplinary approach that combines various methods of urban environment analysis, providing a holistic understanding of urban processes. The use of modern tools enhances both the scientific rigor and the accuracy of the findings. Results of the research have been presented at international conferences and published in scientific articles. The study is associated with the scientific programs of KNUCA and Krakow University of Technology. The findings can be applied to the landscape design of the designated area. Implementation of the research results will improve residents’ quality of life and support the restoration of war-damaged cities and regions in Ukraine.
