To achieve the set goal, the following tasks were defined during the implementation of the stage: 1. Development of nanofibrous electrospun dressing materials based on polylactic acid and chitosan and immobilization of copper nanoparticles. 2. Evaluation of antibacterial properties of the developed dressing materials. 3. Application of the developed dressing materials on laboratory animals in vivo for the treatment of simulated wound infection. 4. Determination of the effectiveness of the use of dressing materials for wound treatment. 5. Evaluation of the toxic effect of copper nanoparticles on the internal organs of laboratory animals. Acute and chronic wounds are widespread medical problems that have a significant impact on the healthcare system. This problem has become particularly acute in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. The increase in the number of injuries and damages contributes to the rapid spread of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria, which are very difficult to treat. In this regard, nanomaterials, in particular metal nanoparticles, attract special attention due to their unique antibacterial properties that do not cause resistance in microorganisms. Our project is aimed at developing modern copper-containing dressings for wound healing of various etiologies with controlled delivery. The development of new dressings using the electrospinning method, with the addition of chitosan and copper nanoparticles, is a highly effective solution to combat antibiotic resistance and chronicity of the process Product Description popup.authors Baryshok Alina S.
