The purpose of the study is to monitor spatial and temporal changes in urban green areas of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Warsaw and Krakow during 1991-2023 based on remote sensing data to ensure sustainable urban development. Research methods - machine learning methods, supervised classification, statistical analysis, geospatial analysis. Research materials - optical remote sensing data of high (PlanetScope) and medium (Landsat) spatial resolution, as well as Sentinel-1 medium spatial resolution radar data for the territory of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Warsaw and Krakow in 1991-2023. Results and novelty - based on the results of supervised classification using Random Forest machine learning, different types of land use and land cover were identified. A set of landscape indicators was calculated for each analysed city in each study year to compare the differences between cities, as well as the differences that occurred in certain time stamps. This analysis made it possible to describe the spatial and temporal changes in the landscapes of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Warsaw, and Krakow.Implementation of R&D results - R&D results are a research in applied science, its results are not commercial, so the standard way is to discuss them at specialised seminars, present them at scientific conferences and publish them in journals indexed in scientometric databases.
