The relevance of the work is due to the fact that in modern bone implantology and cardiovascular surgery, biodegradable implants are increasingly used, which gradually dissolve and are replaced by body tissues, which helps to minimize long-term complications caused by the implant, such as bone atrophy, inflammation of the surrounding tissues, and eliminates the need for repeated operations and implant removal. Magnesium alloys are of particular interest as biosoluble materials for the manufacture of implants due to their high biocompatibility and fairly high strength. In addition, the density and elasticity of magnesium alloys are similar in characteristics to the cortical part of a human bone. However, magnesium alloys are prone to rapid corrosion in physiological environments, which may limit their use as implant materials. Implant-related infections remain a serious clinical problem and can lead to implant rejection, increased patient morbidity and mortality. The use of antimicrobial coatings based on silver and copper nanoparticles effectively prevents implant-related infections. Optimizing the production of such coatings for bio-soluble magnesium alloys can be difficult due to their unique corrosion behavior. Therefore, the development of bio-soluble magnesium alloys with improved properties and effective antimicrobial coatings is an urgent scientific task.
