Object of research: composition of exhaust gas and ash content of irradiated graphite of nuclear installations. Subject of research: methodology and study of the composition of exhaust gas and ash content during combustion for research purposes of irradiated graphite of the Chornobyl NPP. During the implementation of the project, the equilibrium composition of the system was calculated, chemical equations and parameters of chemical reactions were determined during the combustion of irradiated graphite, which is close to the graphite of the Chornobyl NPP. A methodology for the simultaneous determination of the composition of exhaust gas and ash content during the combustion of irradiated graphite was developed, which consists in a combination of the method for determining the ash content of graphite and the method for determining the composition of exhaust gas during the combustion of graphite developed by the authors. The design and principle and technological scheme of a laboratory installation for the simultaneous determination of the composition of exhaust gas during the combustion of irradiated graphite from nuclear installations have been developed. A laboratory room has been prepared for the creation of a prototype of the installation. Experimental determinations of the ash content of natural graphite have been carried out to test the developed method. The dynamics of the installation heating have been determined.
