The input data of the inverse model are a long-term series of sets of multidimensional heterogeneous geospatial data. A scientific justification of the procedure for conducting research in the areas of monitoring and research of changes in geosystems; determination of the sanitary and ecological state of coastal waters and inland freshwater bodies; creation and improvement of direct search methods for solving oil and gas problems on land; description of the spread of infection and drying of pine forest according to remote sensing data (RS). Systemic, mathematical and geospatial models of research objects have been developed, and new and improved methods for solving thematic RS problems using remote data, ground measurements, and geospatial modelling (GPM) results for each direction. The choice of research areas for demonstrations of solving thematic RS problems using GPM methods has been justified, and research areas have been identified.
