Registration Date 28-12-2024 Organization Odessa National Medical University popup.description1 Investigation of the combined effect of non-invasive excitation of brain structures and neuromodulatory pharmacological drugs on experimental convulsive activity. popup.description2  Epilepsy is one of the most common brain diseases characterized by severity, progressive development, and lack of sensitivity to modern pharmacological treatment, which is observed in one-third of patients. Therefore, the development of new treatment approaches involves studying the complex use of both new neurotropic drugs in combination with modern means of controlling brain excitability through non-invasive transcranial effects of physical factors as an alternative to classical treatment with antiepileptic drugs. Using neuromodulators that are specific for receptor complexes pathogenetically related to the mechanisms of neuroimmune inflammation allows for more effective control of neuronal excitability and the achievement of therapeutic effects in chronic epilepsy. Accordingly, the combination of drugs allows for the achievement of synergistic therapeutic effects, reducing drug doses and preventing the occurrence of side effects. This complex therapy is increasing in effectiveness against the background of non-invasive precision direct current effect on individual cerebellar structures, which allows for a stable antiepileptic effect in developing resistant forms of the disease.
