The subject of the study is the theoretical and methodological principles of substantiating the determinants of the growth of the productive capacity of the regions. The purpose of the scientific study is to determine the theoretical and methodological principles, substantiate the patterns of growth and develop a model of the productive capacity of the economy of the regions. Research methods are general scientific and special methods: quantitative and qualitative data analysis, their systematization, economic and mathematical modeling, system analysis, logical and analytical, factor analysis. The theoretical and methodological principles of studying the productive capacity of regional economic systems are substantiated, in particular, a definition of the essence of the concept of "productive capacity of the region" is proposed and a theoretical and methodological model of assessing the productive capacity of the economy of the regions is developed, the target function of which is aimed at identifying the determinants of the growth of total factor productivity and the selection of parameters for measuring their impact. A methodological approach to assessing the productive capacity of regions of Ukraine has been proposed, which allowed for the clustering of regions by their level. Based on the construction of linear multiple regression models, a number of hypotheses regarding the influence of main and partial factors on the growth of total factor productivity have been empirically confirmed. A methodological approach to studying risks and threats to the productive capacity of regions has been improved, which involves a combination of security, economic and sociological approaches and is based on the method of expert survey and interpretation of its results in the territorial-spatial dimension.
