The subject of research is theoretical and practical problems of legal regulation of grounds, procedural order of collection and research of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings. The purpose of scientific research is preparation based on the analysis of scientific and special literature, empirical and information-analytical materials, current legislation of Ukraine, decisions of national judges, criminal materials, methodological recommendations "Collection and research of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings". Research methods: - targeted study of the legislation of Ukraine and other states (selectively), sub-legal normative legal acts, government decisions, departmental normative legal framework on issues of collection and research of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings by units of the National Police; - observation - direct perception and assessment by researchers of the organizational and practical activities of police units in the areas under investigation. This will make it possible to accumulate data of scientific interest to obtain predicted research results; - with the help of the logical-semantic method, the analysis and improvement of the conceptual apparatus was ensured; - the comparative legal method made it possible to investigate the regulatory provisions regulating the grounds and procedure for collecting and examining electronic evidence; - the formal legal method was used to analyze the provisions of legislation aimed at regulating the activity of investigators and other participants in criminal proceedings during the collection and research of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings.
