Based on the results, the concept and principles of sustainable development of the park environment were formed, factors influencing the sustainable development of the park environment and the implementation of the needs of recreationists were identified; a hierarchy of needs was outlined in accordance with the functional features of the park. Based on the second stage results, a methodology for assessing the current state of the park environment was developed, which provides for a comprehensive approach to assessing the park environment, which includes conducting two consecutive procedures: scientific and professional object-oriented examination based on a functional approach and expert assessment, and determining satisfaction with the park environment as a result of recreationists' interaction with it.
