An idea of this research project is to study diverse biological sources of novel natural products abd species having attractive biotechnological properties, such as an ability to correct (inform about) certain pathological state, to accumulate heavy metals etc. To this end, we identified novel genes that would serve as a sensing element to detect organic pollutants. In the samplesof the rhizosphere of Antarctic plant species there have been revealed microorganisms with a capacity to stimulate the growth of wheat seedlings. A range of plant species have been studied to reveal those that can be grown on military pollution-affected territories for energy and remediation purposes. Overall trends of the revegetation of the bottom of Kakhovka water reservoir have been described. New players in glucotoxicity associated with diabetes type II have been pinpointed.
