The structure of the water sector of Kharkiv is analysed. The water disposal system of Kharkiv is considered. The chemical composition of the snow cover (as potential surface wastewater) in the city and beyond is investigated in order to determine the level of its environmental hazard to the city's hydrosphere formed in winter. The dynamics of the concentration of nitrogen-containing compounds - ammonium nitrogen and nitrates - was analysed, which showed a positive correlation and growth with increasing distance from the road.
