A methodology has been developed and an improved design of a vortex-vortex chamber for the formation of flakes has been investigated. The main factors leading to secondary pollution of drinking water in the water supply network have been presented and analysed. The main problems (and their causes) of the operation of closed water supply systems have been identified - epidemiological danger associated with the reuse of water, biofouling of systems, which reduces their efficiency, and increased corrosion activity due to the high content of salts in water. Based on the system analysis, the task of developing a new design of a thin-layer module has been set, which allows for the effective removal of finely dispersed suspended impurities from natural and wastewater without their removal with the flow of clarified water. It has been shown that the application of advanced sludge conditioning strategies provides wastewater treatment plants and industrial facilities with powerful tools to significantly improve the efficiency and sustainability of sludge treatment, disposal, and disposal.
