Experimental and theoretical investigations of optical properties of ordered lattices of plasmonic nanoparticles on complex substrates including ones supporting the propagation of surface plasmons. Micro-ellipsometric measurements of structures with different lattice arrangements, and light excitation directions will be performed. An extension of the nanobem toolbox to account for both lattice effects and layered substrate will be developed and used for the interpretation of experimental data and the assignment of resonances.

Based on calculated lattice sums and microellipsometric measurements, it is proven that spatial dispersion has a significant effect on the optical properties of ordered lattices of plasmonic nanoparticles. Standard dielectric tensors do not describe the optical behavior of such structures.
