Registration Date 06-01-2025 Organization Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 Development of methods of increasing the selective phytotoxicity of herbicides due to joint application with inducers and antagonists of the process of programmed cell death. popup.description2 In order to determine the factors that determine the nature of the effect of the nitrogen oxide (NO) donor sodium nitroprusside (NPN) on the phytotoxic effect of herbicides, the dynamics of the formation of NO and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in the joint and separate use of NPN and the herbicide were studied. Oil radish plants (Raphanus sativus L. var. oleifera Metzg.) were used as a model object. It was established that the effect of the herbicide on the dynamics of NO content is similar to that of NPN. With the simultaneous use of carfentrazone with NPN, there was an increase in the intensity and duration of the formation of NO and H2O2. It was concluded that the growth of the phytotoxic effect of the protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitor herbicide carfentrazone and the synthetic auxin 2,4-D when used together with the nitrogen oxide donor NPN occurs due to an increase in the intensity and duration of the formation of NO and H2O2 in the treated plants, which are inducers of the process of programmed cell death. It was established that in the mixture of tolpiralate and diflufenican, the interaction is additive for dicot species and synergistic for cereal plant species.
