Gryshka National Botanical Garden NAS of Ukraine popup.description1 Comparative study in nature and culture of geographical distribution, ecological and coenotic features and population structure of species included in the Red Book of Ukraine, Red Books of foreign countries, international Red Books and regional lists of species in need of protection. popup.description2 468 pages, 233 references, 55 tables, 139 figures. Objective of the study: Development of botanical-geographical principles for the introduction and conservation of floristic diversity ex situ, as well as identifying patterns in the formation of rare plant populations in cultivated phytocenoses. Research methods – floristic, ecological-cenotic, quantitative-population, introduction-based, phytocoenological, and laboratory methods for seed studies. A summary of the study on rare phytodiversity of Ukraine and several mountainous regions of Eurasia in a spatial-geographical perspective has been provided. Patterns of population functioning of rare species under anthropogenic pressure on natural environments and global climate warming have been identified. The most resistant to anthropogenic impacts are continuous populations of species. At the same time, global warming has positively affected the condition of populations of rare plant species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine (Staphylea pinnata L.) and regionally rare flora species of Ukraine (Arum besserianum Schott and Hedera helix L.), which are expanding their ranges. The adventization of Ukraine's vegetation cover has intensified compared to previous years. The results of the introduction and ex situ conservation of rare phytodiversity in the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden have been highlighted. Patterns of formation and functioning of introduced populations of rare plant species in forest and steppe cultivated phytocenoses have been established. Based on scientific justifications by the staff of the Natural Flora Department, the following have been created: the "Kholodny Yar" National Natural Park, seven botanical reserves, five landscape reserves, eight botanical natural monuments, one protected tract, and the expanded boundaries of the geological natural monument. Keywords: ecosystems, introduction, collection, cultivated phytocenosis, landscape, rare species, vegetation, flora, Ukraine, Eurasia. Product Description popup.authors Bahatska Tetiana S.
