They are based on the use of non-stationary electrical power modes, layer-by-layer formation of ingots, localization of the metal pool, as well as on the complex influence on the solidification processes of large ingots in the mold using heating and dynamic influence on the molten metal pool. These methods allow to significantly reduce the volume of the metal pool and the length of the two-phase zone, eliminate the formation of defects of shrinkage origin and axial porosity, and increase the structural homogeneity and dispersion of the crystalline structure of the ingots. Based on the obtained experimental data, technological recommendations were developed for the application of the proposed methods of influencing metal crystallization in electroslag and plasma-arc technologies and casting in a mold. The results obtained during the work will be able to find application in the creation of modern technologies for producing large-sized steel ingots, ingots of complex alloys, precision alloys, titanium-based alloys, etc. Product Description popup.authors Ihnatov Anatolii P.
