This resistance must be necessarily combined with other economically valuable traits, primarily grain yield and quality. The goal of the project is to study the mechanisms of resistance of wheat, soybean and potato plants to the most common and harmful viruses and the selection of varieties and promising lines based on their screening for biochemical and molecular markers of resistance to these viruses and on the basis of determining plant productivity and crop quality. The main objectives of the project: Stage I - diagnostics of wheat, soybean, potato viruses; determination of their impact on crop productivity and quality of agricultural products. Stage II - screening of varieties for the presence of markers of resistance to circulating virus isolates: biochemical and molecular markers of genetic resistance to viruses, determination of the breeding value of original introgressive wheat lines and the presence of wheat-alien and reciprocal translocations in the karyotypes of lines. Stage III - study of the mechanisms of wheat resistance to viral diseases and the appearance of crimson and chlorotic-yellowish stripes on young wheat leaves in May-June, similar to symptoms of viral diseases. The results obtained will be of strategic importance for the sustainable production of plant products in Ukraine and its export in the conditions of the war and post-war period.  Product Description popup.authors Dunich Alina A.
