A method for the synthesis of bis(benzoazacrown ethers) with long flexible linking chains has been developed, based on the interaction of diglycidal ethers of aliphatic diols with benzoaza-15-crown-5 in boiling anhydrous ethanol for 8-10 hours. The obtained compounds form the most stable complexes with sodium cations among alkali metal cations. With this cation, in all cases, less stable complexes of the composition 1:2 are also formed.
