Object of research – essential oils The aim of the work is to develop a method for qualitative determination of water in essential oils and their semi-synthesis products To achieve the set goal, the following tasks were defined in the work: – qualitative method for determining water in essential oils; – determination of water in essential oils by distillation with an organic solvent; – determination of water by titrimetric method with Fischer reagent; – to develop a standard of the State Enterprise “KYIVSTANDARTMETROLOGY” for the determination of water in essential oils and their synthesis products. Research methods – physico-chemical. The study was conducted on the basis of the scientific and testing laboratory of the State Enterprise “KYIVOBLSTANDARTMETROLOGY”. The developed methodology applies to essential oils, aromatic substances and intermediate products of their synthesis and establishes methods for determining water: qualitative determination; distillation with an organic solvent; titration with Fischer reagent.
