Subject of research - theoretical and metatheoretical generalisations of professional developments in the field of journalism and social communications. The purpose is to offer an analytical overview of media narratives and trends in digital journalism based on meta-theoretical generalisations. Research methods: quantitative and qualitative monitoring of domestic media discourse in all types of media; content analysis of the content of publications on the chosen topic; analysis of genre, issue and format features of media products; study of the receptive aspect of media practice and monitoring of media effects. The analytical study of the national mass media discourse has made it possible to identify the main directions of scientific thought on the transformation processes in the media industry. The phenomenon of immersiveness in journalism was theoretically substantiated and empirically verified, the documentary comic strip was conceptualised as a media trend, innovative television formats were characterised, the latest journalistic narratives were revealed, the potential of urban media practices was identified, and the effectiveness of cross-platform content promotion within the hybrid media environment was analysed. the problematic and thematic content of modern media education was identified; the potential of using the latest technologies, in particular mobile applications in the media education system, was investigated. The results and conclusions of the research work are implemented in the educational process of training bachelors and masters in the speciality 061 - ‘Journalism’. Within the framework of the research work, a scientific collection ‘Communications and Communicative Technologies’ is published.
