The work is devoted to improving the methods of remote sensing of the Earth when solving the problems of operational geoecological monitoring of individual natural and man-made objects of Ukraine, studying the heat load on urbanized territories in conditions of climate change, determining the minimum necessary and sufficient sets of methods and techniques when solving specific geoecological problems in peacetime and wartime. The optimal set of methods and techniques for processing space data to detect the processes of flooding and submergence of territories, determine the fire hazard of peatlands and spontaneous combustion of coal mine tailings, consider practical aspects of determining the geoecological state of territories of long-term hydrocarbon production, investigate the possibilities of satellite monitoring in controlling the reclamation of depleted placer deposits. Recommendations are given for the implementation of satellite technologies in rational environmental management. The results of the application of improved methodological and technological complexes for monitoring the heat load on regional centers of Ukraine can be used to substantiate measures for planning rational urban development and restoring cities damaged as a result of military operations. The results of the implementation are presented.
