The purpose of the work is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the conceptual principles of global geopolitical transformations in the modern world, challenges and threats to modern democracy, and to determine on this basis the factors influencing these processes in the context of preventing negative trends. Research methods are systemic, retrospective-comparative, sociological methods, civilizational, normative-value and institutional approaches, content analysis. The components and sources of conflicts in the modern world that threaten the existence of the global liberal democratic order are identified; the directions for strengthening the values of democracy are considered and substantiated, the reasons for the totalitarianization of states that have geopolitical influence are characterized. The problems of forming a political image in the context of geopolitical transformations and challenges are analyzed; the conceptual principles of studying the political image of a state as a factor of geopolitical identification are determined; the relationship and interaction of the internal and external images of the state in war conditions are revealed; the basic principles of forming the image of a political leader within the framework of changing the influence on geopolitical positions are considered. The intra-system and communicative factors of democratization of the political process in the context of European integration are revealed; the digital dimension of political stability and security in the EU as a key geopolitical actor is determined; populist and anti-democratic movements are analyzed as a threat to the liberal-democratic values of the EU; Ukrainian-Polish relations are investigated as a factor in strengthening European values on the background of geopolitical challenges.
