The features of the formation of the structure, chemical, and phase composition of particles, and coatings of the intermetallic type were clarified. The energy efficiency and productivity of the specified plasma-arc spraying of powder wires were investigated, and a comparative analysis of these indicators was made with other common methods of plasma spheroidization of wire materials. The effectiveness of additives of nano-sized ZrO2 and NbC powders for improving the sphericity of metal powders obtained by the plasma-arc spraying method was shown. Scientific principles were developed for the design and manufacture of industrial equipment and the practical implementation of obtaining spherical particles using plasma technologies from complex alloys and intermetallics for use in additive technologies and powder metallurgy.
