The aim of the work is to increase the efficiency of extinguishing Class A and B fires by using new concentrates of extinguishing agents modified with the latest gel-forming agents, depending on the direction of their further use in extinguishing the fire. The paper analyses the current state of availability and trends in the development of water-based extinguishing agents and technologies for their use in the world and domestic practice. Possible ways to improve the formulations and increase the efficiency of the use of these substances are outlined, taking into account, first of all, the criteria of efficiency, economy and environmental friendliness. It has been proved that, in comparison with water, fire extinguishing solutions based on modified systems and new technologies for their production have a number of advantages, which consist in a significant increase in their stability (stability of colloidal dispersed systems) and increased fire protection effect due to the implementation of a complex of factors for stopping combustion: cooling of insulation, phlegmatisation (dilution) and inhibition. The compositions of fire extinguishing concentrates for the creation of fire extinguishing solutions based on polyacrylates and polyacrylamides for extinguishing fires of classes A and B are recommended. The article considers the application of new technologies for the production of modified fire extinguishing solutions in order to improve their performance characteristics, optimise the dispersion of extinguishing agent droplets depending on the direction of their further use in fire extinguishing.
