The main mechanism is the ability of Larifan to restore interferon synthesis, the slowdown of which is caused by SARS-CoV-2. The main cause of high mortality during the COVAD-19 pandemic is hyperinflammation associated with cytokine storm and multiorgan dysfunction, the key mechanism of which is pro-inflammatory polarized activation of anti-infective immune effectors in the absence of adequate inflammation control. Given the exceptional role of immune reactivity disorders caused by SARS-CoV-2, which manifest in the form of acute respiratory distress syndrome, the basis of which is hyperinflammation, special attention should be paid to studying the effect of the drug on the immune system, in particular, innate immune responses mediated by macrophages and monocytes, which are the main effectors of hyperinflammation. Given the above, the aim of the work was to investigate the effect of the drug Larifan on the phenotypic and functional characteristics of alveolar macrophages and monocytes of mice with different genetically determined types of immune reactivity, of different ages and sexes, as well as monocytes of healthy donors of different ages and sexes in vitro. According to the results of the project, it was established that the immunomodulatory activity of the drug has a generally anti-inflammatory orientation, and its features depend on age, sex and genetic characteristics of immune reactivity. The drug inhibits hyperinflammatory activation of alveolar macrophages, while maintaining and enhancing their patrol functions typical of resident tissue sentinel cells. A more pronounced anti-inflammatory modulatory effect on macrophages and peripheral blood monocytes was recorded in an organism with a Th1 profile (oriented to the predominance of cellular immune reactions, prone to the generation of hyperinflammation) of immune reactivity.  Product Description popup.authors Dvukhriadkina Anastasiia І.
