Determination of the quality of technical sodium hydroxide “Methodology for determining alkaline components” The object of the study is technical caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), intended for the chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper industries, non-ferrous metallurgy and other sectors of the national economy. The purpose of the work is to develop a procedure for testing the quality indicators of technical sodium hydroxide. To achieve the goal, the following tasks are defined in the work: – to develop a method for determining the mass fraction of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate; – to develop a standardized method for determining the mass fraction of sodium carbonate with CO2 distillation; – to develop a standard of the State Enterprise “KYIVSTANDARTMETROLOGY” for determining alkaline components in sodium hydroxide. Research methods are physicochemical. The study was conducted on the basis of the scientific and testing laboratory of the State Enterprise “KYIVOBLSTANDARTMETROLOGY”. The developed methodology applies to the determination of quality indicators of technical sodium hydroxide, which is intended for the chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper industries, non-ferrous metallurgy and other sectors of the national economy.
