Research of physicochemical properties of synthesized materials and theoretical substantiation of recommendations on optimal conditions for obtaining and using highly selective sorbents for environmental purposes. popup.description2  An analysis of scientific and patent literature on the synthesis and modification of specialized sorbents based on natural and synthetic raw materials was conducted, a number of materials based on natural clays, inorganic oxides and silicates were obtained, including those applied to cellulose and basalt fiber, as well as biochar from agro-industrial waste. Using the methods of low-temperature nitrogen adsorption, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray phase and derivatographic analysis, the morphology of the obtained sorbents was studied in order to issue prognostic recommendations for obtaining products with optimized sorption properties. The sorption properties of the obtained materials in relation to uranium ions and heavy metals, radionuclides, arsenates and phosphates were studied.
