Theoretical principles and practical recommendations for the use of population monitoring for the purpose of preserving rare plant species, certain animal species and their habitats in the highlands of the Ukrainian Carpathians will be substantiated and developed. On the basis of these studies, general schemes of monitoring programs will be developed for plant species of different life forms and types of biomorphs, with excellent ecological and biological properties, life cycles and methods of reproduction and different vulnerability to threat factors. Schemes of monitoring programs will also be developed for individual species of animals - planktonic crustaceans and amphibians. popup.description2 Repeated surveys of the status of populations of the studied species were carried out based on their basic individual (ontogenesis, morphometric characteristics, vitality) and group parameters (number, area of population range; density; birth rate and mortality; spatial, age, vitality, ethological and sexual structure; reproduction). A study of reproductive niches of populations was carried out - their spatial localization, ecological and phytocenotic localization; and identification of loci favorable for reproductive individuals and young offspring (juveniles). An account of the effective and regeneration area of populations was carried out. Approaches to identifying mutual influence and conjugation in populations of rare species were developed based on non-destructive research methods. A study of mutual influence and conjugation between species at different age stages and levels of vitality was carried out, in particular in reproductive individuals of high vitality and young offspring (juveniles). Seasonal (phenological) rhythms of populations were recorded based on the terms of phenophases and other growth and development processes. Dynamic changes in the habitats of populations and high-mountain groups, caused by natural (climatic and demutation) and anthropogenic (various forms of recreation, collection of useful species, etc.) factors, were monitored. The main mechanisms of the adverse effect of natural (climatic and demutation) and anthropogenic changes on the populations of rare species of the highlands of the Ukrainian Carpathians were identified. The first mechanism consists of climatogenic changes in the abiotic conditions of the habitat in the habitats of populations. This is, first of all, a decrease in soil moisture. Therefore, the conditions for the existence of hydro-, hygro-, and mesophytes deteriorate. The second mechanism consists of the fact that climatogenic changes indirectly affect the populations of rare species through changes in biotic Product Description popup.authors Bilonoha Volodymyr M.
