Object of the study: clinical, anamnestic, neurological, neurophysiological, neuroimaging, psychodiagnostic data of children with epilepsy; data from a survey of parents of children with epilepsy and adult patients. Scope of the study: a remote survey of 108 parents of children with epilepsy (62 boys, 46 girls) was conducted twice, a remote survey of 102 adult patients with epilepsy (43 men, 59 women), a survey of 305 adult patients with epilepsy, and dynamic observation of 53 children with various forms of epilepsy (25 boys, 28 girls) was conducted. Purpose of the work: To study the features of the course of various forms of epilepsy in children compared to adult patients during the war, to develop approaches to optimizing the therapy of such patients. Research methods: clinico-anamnestic, clinico-neurological, neurophysiological, neuroimaging, psychodiagnostic, questionnaire method, statistical. The frequency of seizure remission failures in children is 10.87%, in adults – from 10.00% to 42.30%. The increase in seizures after the start of the full-scale war occurred in 31.11% of children and 51.98% of adult patients with epilepsy. The use of available means of communication and options for contacting a doctor allowed both children and adult patients with epilepsy to receive generally satisfactory medical care during military operations. There is a statistically significant increase in behavioral disorders, emotional and “psychological” problems in children with epilepsy. The strongest predictors of mental health in adults are: female gender, exacerbation of seizures, need for mental health support, and patients' assessment of epilepsy severity.
