The author identifies the main international legal acts that reveal the phenomenon of collaborationism. It is shown that collaborationism is a complex and ambiguous psychosocial and ethical phenomenon that arises as a result of interaction between the subjects of the communication process (individuals, certain political organisations and participants). The author analyses such factors as specific characteristics of the American electoral system, its institutions such as primaries, the Electoral College, caucuses, peculiarities of political culture and electoral behaviour of American voters, trends and phenomena of electoral processes, in particular, ‘conflict expansion’ and ‘negative commitment’. On the basis of the societal approach and data from sociological surveys from 1991 to 2022, the author observes the qualitative transformations of the political culture of Ukrainians. A diachronic comparative analysis of the components of political culture is carried out: political awareness and competence of citizens; level of satisfaction and degree of political trust; political activity and involvement; political efficiency and readiness for social protest; political self-identification and identity. The main areas of support for Ukraine by the United States and the United Kingdom are identified and analysed: military assistance, intelligence sharing, and sanctions policy. Based on a wide range of evidence, it is proved that the crucial role of assistance lies in the close coordination of American and British actions aimed at comprehensive support of the Ukrainian people. The influence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the development of international relations in the context of the situation in Ukraine is studied.
