Purpose of the study - to improve the technological and operational properties of intumescent fire protective materials by studying the effect of non-associative thickeners on rheological characteristics during storage and application. Research methods: determination of the rheological properties of paint by Brookfield; determination of the limit of fire protection efficiency of metal columns according to DSTU B V.1.1-14:2007; infrared spectroscopy; thermogravimetric analysis. The influence of the nature of the polymer, cellulose thickeners and nano clays on the rheological parameters responsible for the storage and application of paint and varnish material was investigated. It was found that the thickening of intumescent-type fire retardant paints with cellulose ethers is effective in preventing sedimentation during storage and has almost no effect on increasing the thickness of the paint layer that can be applied in one step. It has been shown that nanoclays have a double positive effect on organosoluble and water-dispersible intumescent systems - they significantly increase the specific rheological properties and fire retardancy. The scientific significance of the study is to develop theoretical approaches, apply scientific concepts and results to the design of fire protective materials for the building industry with improved characteristics through the use of innovative environmental technologies. The practical significance of the work is to develop recommendations for manufacturers of passive fire protection regarding the rheological parameters of organosoluble and water-dispersible intumescent compositions for the possibility of applying paint to a surface with a wet coating thickness of at least 1.5 mm in one step. The obtained practical recommendations can decrease the cost of fire protection treatment of steel structures by 30%. Product Description popup.authors Anishсhenko Viktor M. Anishсhenko Hanna V.
