Manuscripts of model curricula for civic education for grade 8 and law for grade 9, as well as textbooks on the history of Ukraine and world history for grade 7 in general secondary education institutions, were prepared. A concept for textbooks was created to promote the development of critical thinking, patriotism, and civic consciousness among learners. The proposed teaching methodology ensures active student engagement and the acquisition of key competencies and cross-cutting skills defined by the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. The trial implementation of interim research results demonstrated positive effects on improving the quality of school-based history and civic education. Comparisons with international approaches indicate that the research outcomes are competitive, incorporating contemporary educational trends such as knowledge integration, active learning, and consideration of cultural and historical contexts. The implementation of these developments in the educational process contributes to its modernization, the reinforcement of societal values, and the cultivation of civic responsibility among learners.
