Special attention is focused on the application of natural clinoptilolite in water purification technologies. It is shown that the modification of natural clinoptilolite, in particular, with silver, makes it possible to significantly improve its operational characteristics. For example, modification with silver gives the sorbent additional antibacterial action. In order to intensify the process of sorption of silver ions from the precursor used for modification, namely silver nitrate, physical methods were chosen. These include electromagnetic oscillations of the ultra-high frequency range and acoustic oscillations of the ultrasound range. Electromagnetic radiation was used to dehydrate natural clinoptilolite before its modification. It was established that thanks to this treatment, the sorption capacity of clinoptilolite increases, and energy costs are significantly lower than during thermal activation of the sorbent. Direct modification of clinoptilolite with silver by electromagnetic radiation increases the sorption capacity. Modification of clinoptilolite under the influence of ultrasonic radiation also helps to increase its sorption capacity. This is caused by an increase in the rate of diffusion phenomena. Using the method of energy dispersive analysis, it was established that the modification of clinoptilolite occurs by the mechanism of ion exchange. The morphology of clinoptilolite before and after modification with zero-valent silver was studied using electron microscopy. Differential thermal analysis established that the sorption capacity of modified clinoptilolite with respect to water vapor increases after modification.
