It is proven that since the end of the 20th century the archetypes of home, way, and the child have been significantly problematized. “Home” ceases to be perceived as an exclusively “private” locus, even if it has absorbed all the wealth of the soul of its inhabitants, additional inclusions appear, most often of the existential universal plan. The originality of the image of the American teenager is determined and it is revealed how the archetype of the way affects the formation of the personality. The metaphorical expansion of the child / teenager archetype is revealed. All images of teenagers are given in development, on the way to adulthood. The main trends of the second half of the 20th - early 21st centuries of filling the child archetype with relevant historical characteristics are traced. It is determined that the image of home in the literature of the postmodern period is not least “fueled” by archetypal motives and provides interesting approaches to its metaphorization. At the beginning of the 21st century, on the example of the novel The Nutshell, we observe a certain transformation of home: it is no longer a building that is familiar to understanding, but a maternal womb. A rethinking of universal human values through the image of the family is revealed. The sphere is the educational process. The results of the research were published in 8 articles in leading scientific professional publications. The obtained results allow us to expand our understanding of motives and images in the English-language novel at the beginning of the 21st century. The materials can be used in the development of lecture courses on the history of world literature of the 21st century, as well as for thematic special courses on English-language prose.
