The purpose of the work is to develop new methods and improve equipment for remote sensing and non-contact monitoring of parameters of environments and substances to detect objects of natural and artificial origin in the medium. The research methods are mathematical modeling of electrodynamic processes, theoretical studies of spatio-temporal transformations of a pulsed electromagnetic field when interacting with objects of natural or artificial origin, experimental studies, signal coding methods, testing of developed experimental models. Results of the work: - new fundamental knowledge about the scattering phenomena of ultra-wideband pulsed electromagnetic fields by local subsurface objects (including mines), methods of processing pulsed radar data and means of real-time detection and identification of subsurface objects, including using artificial neural networks; algorithms for preparing ground penetrating radar data; antennas design; method of measuring the frequency dependence of the effective permeability of ferrite rods of arbitrary sizes; increased dynamic range of the sampling receiver; special equipment for experiments; - new fundamental knowledge about the interaction of broadband pseudo-random electromagnetic signals with living people who are limited in movement, recommendations for choosing the operating frequency band of the radar for rescuers, principles of using Mersenne code functions; software for generating and analyzing radar signals, a pseudo-random signal generator prototype; - conditions for the formation of directional radiation by a diffractive radiation antenna in the E or H polarization modes and simultaneous operation on two polarizations, conditions for the propagation of a Gaussian wave beam of E polarization.
